Nice short stories, moments in time. In one lifetime the author has gone from no electricity to electronic writing and ether distribution.Hope there are more stories in between.
This is my Dad's book and so the subject and the author are dear to me. I might be prejudiced, but I think it's a good read. It's always interesting to take a glimpse into the past and this book allows not only for that glimpse into the past, but into rural Scotland in the past.
A must read for anyone who enjoys stories relating to the past and especially if you have relatives who come from a small rural village on the out skirts of a much bigger city like Glasgow, Scotland. It could be set in many places of the world in a bygone era. The story telling would be much the same I'd imagine. And,if you're anything like me, that evokes such images of times when everything and everyone seemed to be more in touch with the sense of caring and feeling for others. A lovely story in a lovely setting, involving a young boys upbringing and the charms of rural living.
